AB-1756-CNBR module
The 1756-CNBR is an Allen-Bradley interface module for communication within a control network, known as control bridge redundancy. It is the same as the 1756-CNB, but the biggest difference is that the 1756-CNBR has an additional ControlNet port, which will support redundant media. The module has two control network BNC ports, while the 1756-CNB has only one, although they both have a control network RJ45 port.
The 1756-CNBR, like the non-redundant module, also controls the scheduled data with the Logix5550 controller and Bridges the unscheduled data between the ControlLogix mainboard and the ControlNet network. To prevent loss of communication when the splitter or trunk line is disconnected, redundant ControlNet media can be used. The only module you can use for this connection is the 1756-CNBR.
The technical specifications of the module are also similar to non-redundant modules. It can also handle up to 64 two-way scheduled and unscheduled connections to other ControlNet devices. In addition, the module can support a buffer of up to 20 unconnected messages. If your application has 40 to 48 Logix communication connections per communication module, and the communication rate is 5 megabytes per second, then this is the module you need. It also has 99 nodes available.
The current consumption of the 1756-CNBR is 970 mA at 5.1 volts DC and 1.7 MA at 24 volts DC.
